Went to lunch among other things, with Shizuka today, she had decided on Sawasdee Thai at 27th and Main (Vancouver). My first time trying Thai, so I picked out what seemed to be the most conservative dish, the Phad Katiem (sauted pork in garlic with rice, broccoli, and carrots) which we shared along with a mild curry. Delicious and prices seemed fair for the portions, must try if you haven’t been.
I’m a pretty picky, non-adventerous eater, but Shizuka is helping to slowly overturn that (or culture me as I joke). Afterwards we stopped by a few stores to pick up some items she had mentioned that she needed and ended up at the new Richmond IKEA, which is directly adjacent to the older store that it replaced. The layout of this new store is pretty much identical to the Coquitlam IKEA, and as per usually an immense amount time was spent wandering the store.
Ended up at the IKEA food shop/concession stand where we each took home KEX Chocolate as well as Apple filled biscuits, which are remarkably similar to the famous girl guide cookies. Oh and we shared a large warm cinnamon bun, which was very very good. Good day, spent with a wonderful person.
Life Stage 2-1
Its interesting to look back on the last year and realize how much better off I am. Eating much healthier, focused on my education and future career, and most of all just enjoying life. I never realized how much a single individual could contribute positively to someones life. Going through high school especially I learned to trust only myself, but three years out I realized how I was wrong.
Maybe not completely wrong, but having a (insert every adjective possible here) friend close-by changes everything. Never before have I studied so much (or at all) for final exams, practically 5 hours everyday for a week, but having her as company definitely helped (and helped for the exams). Yesterday we embarked on something neither one of us had ever tried, building a bike with her at a community run bike shop and it was pretty great, felt like I was in high school automotive, however, this time I was actually getting something done, despite the fact that she went with a different bike in the end ;P.
She should be boarding a plane right about now on route to her vacation, and even though its only a week I’m going to miss my friend. Thank you amiga, you are someone I’m going to keep close-by for the rest of my life.
Not attached to any religion, but truly blessed to have met you. Thank you.

Yesterday was the best day. Good conversation over lunch, did very well on a midterm, completed a quiz with ease, and started and finished my geography assignment before falling asleep.
Scratch that last post its the flu =/ good timing with spring break.

top-tip: don’t accept a snack from a kind friend if they have a cough.
A Good Day
Finally found a day to sleep-in, walk the dog, come home and make lunch. Bowl of grapes, a banana, and waffles :D for lunch, so good. Then relax in a hot bath listening to good music for an hour, haven’t had a bath since… I can’t remember. Today is going good.

Pretty much the day in a nutshell, well not entirely. So today on my break between my two classes I went along with my new friend/classmate up to one of the computer labs to work our geography project proposals. I was almost done but figured might as well help her decide being that we had nothing else to do between classes.
Anyways everything was going good and this random dude shows up and starts talking to her (old friend I guess) no problem. Then this is where it gets uncomfortable, I think he starts giving her a shoulder rub or something, I was trying my hardest to not look by staring at my laptop screen. So I’m thinking must be her boyfriend or something, but either way WTF?
After what seems like an eternity dude says goodbye and leaves, I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable so I finish up without talking while she continues to work. Then this guy shows up again like 15 minutes later and honestly by this point I was done anyways but planned on staying just in-case, I was like fuck this PZ and left the lab confused and uncomfortable.
