experimenting with HDR photography & the Olympic Cauldron

I’ve only had my Canon S5IS for a few weeks now, which has been my first semi-serious take at photography. Although its no DSLR and its sensor fails at lowlight, the S5IS is extremely versatile with its 12x zoom lens and very capable with the CHDK firmwares RAW mode. I’m thinking my next purchase will be a Gorillapod SLR, which should help out with long exposure shots. Yesterday I woke up extremely early to make it downtown for sunrise, while I was messing with settings I remembered that AEB could be used for HDR images. So after putting the images through Photomatrix, a little tone mapping, and few adjustment layers in Photoshop and little help from Pixelperfect episode 92 I created this:
